Everybody Wants to Play With the New AMG S63 Coupe

Being the new kid on the block certainly has its perks, as the freshly launched Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe recently found out. Soon, it will prove easier to count the tuning companies that haven’t yet toyed around with the new coupe from AMG.

First up is the Russian tuning outfit called Re-Styling. They say the car you see in the images below is the first AMG S63 Coupe to ever set… well… foot in the Russian capital city of Moscow. They also say the original color was a dark shade of blue, which we’ll have to take their word for.

Now, the car is completely wrapped in a dark grey vinyl that gives the car an even more menacing look than the one it had when it left the manufacturing plant. The matte finish compliments every line on the surface of the car while the red brake calipers are the perfect touch of colour to break the monotony. If, with other Russian tuning programs in mind, you think about how this car could have ended up looking, this one counts as an absolute success in our book.

The engine, however, was left unaltered. Which, if you think about it, isn’t exactly a bad thing: we’re talking about a 5.5 litre twin-turbo V8 with 577 bhp and 900 Nm of torque that propels the car from nought to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. Bare in mind this is a pretty heavy piece of machinery so that figure is rather impressive. And I’m pretty sure the same could be said about the top speed if it weren’t electronically limited to 300 km/h.

The second tuner might sound a bit more familiar. It’s called MEC Design and their version of the new S63 Coupe even has a name: “White Sugar”. As with the previous tuned model, MEC left pretty much untouched all of the mechanical bits, focusing on the appearance of the car instead. By now you’ve already figured out it’s white but it also has black 22 inch alloy wheels, an Eco-mode deactivation system and new MEC Design branded floor mats. More relevant than the mats to the handling of the car will be the lowered suspension, just like the improved stainless steel sport exhaust system will make the new S63 Coupe go faster. And sound even better.

Rest assured, more will come. And then, there’s Brabus
