Mercedes-Benz is extensively testing the future GLB, a brand new compact SUV. AutoWeek reader Kristof Fostier bumped into the newcomer in Prague and was quick enough to immortalize the car.
The GLB is one of the models which will soon join the Mercedes’ compact model family. The car shares its MFA2-basis with the new A-Class, which gets lots of other derivatives. The A-Class Sedan is already available in China, but in addition the brand with the star still has to reveal the new CLA, a new CLA Shooting Brake, a new B-Class, a new GLA and the GLB.
The car seems to get a relatively striking angular shape and with that the SUV even looks a bit like the GLK of yesteryear. Basically, the GLB will have standard front wheel drive. 4Matic drive will be reserved for the more powerful versions.
The fact that the GLB is slowly shaking off its camouflage hide may indicate that a revelation is not long overdue.
